May his soul rest in peace.
I haven't met or spoke to Nitin or his family personally yet... But being an Assamese in US, I can feel the bond we all have to each other. May you be filled with faith and hope even in the midst of inescapable grief.

Nitin Bezbaruah Sarangapani, son of Alpana Bezbaurah Sarangapani and Ramgopal Sarangpani was buried at the Klein Memorial Park on October 1, 2005. The funeral service and burial were attended by parents, relatives, the US Marines, the Assamese community in Houston, Austin, Dallas, people from as far as Denver and Saint Louis, and in particular by his aunt who had to hastily fly to Houston from India. The service was impressive with full military honor including a 21 gun salute by the US Marines, yet it was sad. We wished this event how ever impressive, never took place. It has been a difficult time for all of us. He was the only child but, we do not have control on our destiny.
I still remember his gifted talent. When he was about five, he use to surprise everybody with his skill of telling what day it was for a particular date in the past or in the future. He took his logic with him and we will now never find out now how he developed that skill all by himself at such a young age.
We salute this Marine; a patriot, but above all he was an Assamese; a son who never missed any Assamese get together in Houston while he was in town.
May God bless him. We pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace!
