I think I missed sending the message to the group. So let me repeat what I mentioned in the reply.
Debo is from Silchar, Assam. There they speak Sylheti (or Bengali) - it happens to be the regional language there. I doubt he knows Assamese - he does not need to. His vote seeking however was focused on Assam and NE. You should recognize this small thing and its value for what it is. Thankfully many seem to be doing so. I haven't seen all of the shows but Chandan's message rebuts what you stated. He has used Assamese as well as Sylheti. I would like him to use not just Assamese but Bodo and Khasi and Nagamese and whatever else his friends circle can rustle up - he is seeking votes from NE. I am not quite sure what it is that is irking you - the need to emphasise on music not the region, or the fact that does not speak Assamese instead of Sylheti(never mind the fact that his mother tongue is Sylheti and he is from a Sylheti region of Assam) or that a "Bengali" boy from Assam is getting the attention.
