Hope all of you have got a great start to the New Year. Once again, wishing
you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year and Bhogali bihu.
The Assam Society of Bangalore has been organizing Magh bihu celebration
for quite a few years now and this year too, the society has come forward to
organize this get-together on 3rd Feb, 2007 with enthusiastic participation
expected from the Assamese
community residing in Bangalore and elsewhere.
The upcoming event has been planned in a big way this time, with the
performance by the popular and acclaimed artist ZUBEEN GARG(with his entire
group) being the highlight of the cultural and musical extravaganza. Moreover,
a Bihu group from Sibsagar, formed as a tribute to the renowned Bihu dol called
KARENG, one of the best bihu dols from Assam, is also going to grace the
occasion with itsÂ’ grand Bihu performance. Also, a well-known comedian from
Assam is coming to tickle our funny bones. In addition to these, there are a
series of performances by local artists lined up as well.
I, on behalf of Assam Society of Bangalore, invite you all to this cultural
get-together on 3rd Feb, 2007 with your family and friends. Your gracious
presence and active participation will immensely contribute in making this
event a successful cultural platform for all Assamese to interact and thereby
revitalize our cultural heritage.
It will be a day-long affair starting with the "Meji-projjwolon" at 10 am.
The venue will be St. Aloysius High School ground, Cox town near Ulsoor,
Bangalore.
