There is a huge rush of spectators at the venues to watch the events. However half the seats at the Zakir Hussain Aquatic complex and Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium are reserved for VIPs and VVIPs. While these seats are empty the public seating area is having to accomodate much beyond their capacity, hundreds of eager spectators of all ages are crammed into a small area.The organisers may not have anticipated such enthusiasm but why such elabortae arrangements for the non- participating VIPs.
The citizenry having been starved of such sporting events is out to savour the occassion with a vengeance. One thought- Tarun Gogoi pulled it off in seemingly impossible circumstances. How would the AGP have done in organising the games? Irrelevant question? Well just a thought..
