An FIR may also be filed, if not already done. However, for filing a delayed FIR, sufficient reasons have to be given explaining the delay.
Copies of the FIR filed may be sent to the SSP (City) and the Director General of Police by Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due Form duly filled. If FIR is filed together with copies as indicated above, in person, receipts may be taken for future use in the Court of Law. My earlier advice was also strictly in accordance with the Law for safeguarding the life and liberty of citizens. Regards to all. To file an FIR is the right of every citizen in this country. not to do so is to acknowledge that the police or enforcers have control over our basic rights for justice. this is unacceptable and means giving in to the State. if necessary a group of journalists may also file an additional FIR. there has been so much publicity to this incident that I do not see how any police officer will dare refuse the FIR. as civil servants know, the only publicity that government and officials hate is bad publicity. they are happy with anything "postive" written about them. File a complaint before a Judicial Magistrate First Class or the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Guwahati against the erring policemen 2. Also simultaneously file Complaint petition, narrating complete facts of the incident before the State Human Rights Commission 3. Submit another Petition before the State Women's Commission. An FIR with Police is unlikely to produce the desired results. J.P. When she resisted all the security men dragged her kicked her and beaten mercilessly. She was immediately taken to the hospital where doctor found multiple injuries. She is now under treatment in the International Hospital, Guwahati.
