GPC has not authorized anyone to organize
Bihu function in Delhi
Guwahati: Guwahati Press Club (GPC) is no way associated with any Bihu
function at the premises of Press Club of India, New Delhi. After receiving
many telephone calls from different quarters of Delhi (including some
sponsorers), GPC decides it fit to clarify its stand that GPC has not
authorized any person or organization to initiate any kind of functions in the
capital city.
It is learnt that JournalistsÂ’ Union of Assam (following the request of
Press Club of India) has organized a Bihu function (Assam Festival ) on April
21, 22 in Delhi, where they have used the address and telephone number of
Guwahati Press Club (a press invitation has been enclosed here with)

Zubeen to perform in India Press Club, Delhi
JournalistsÂ’ Union of Assam (JUA) has organized Assam Festival in the
premises of India Press Club (IPC), New Delhi on April21 & 22, 2007. India
Press Club has requested JUA to hold such a festival showcasing Assam- its
society and culture. Honoring the request JUA has organizing the festival in
IPC premises. Celebrity singer Zuneen Garg will perform in the evening of 21st
of April. Zubeen will sing Bihu song and other popular numbers in the
function.Folk songs and dances of various ethnic groups will also be staged in
the festival. A number of eminent persons from the state will also be
felicitated in the function. An ethnic food festival and a mini exhibition will
also be held in the premises of the Club.
