Dear Naba, Please see the mail below: Pratul Kalita Institute Coordinator, NEPIF As could be expected, because of the senseless violence in North East (and courtesy external media magnifying the ills here), an effort which was underway for finding employment for NE students got a little jolt.
NEPIF had initiated, in association with Gauhati Univeristy, this Placement Event for TCS, to find employment of B.SC & BCA students of North East. So much efforts were already invested - more than a dozen college authorities directly contacted, news-ads given on news papers, logistics planned .. But however same had to be deferred for obvious reasons! Call it whatever might be, but we have not been dis-heartened. We are professionals and can not really do more than raising our voice of protest against the evil deeds. But at the same time, we would also keep working for the betterment of NE in whatever smaller capacities, as than only we can negate whatever is the negative growth that has been brought about by these evils. NEPIF has already found employment for 77 Engineering & Management students of NE, in prestigious organizations like Satyam, ICICI Bank, Genpact, Colgate Palmolive etc. with annual starting salary of Rs.2.5 lakhs to 3.5lakhs. The planed event for TCS shall be held and the dates would be notified to you again, so that you can bring it to the notice of the eligible students near you... for more information, kindly visit the forum site: http://www.nepif. weblet.in/ Lets hope we see a more peaceful North East soon. Regards, Prasanta Bora. NE Coordinator, NEPIF Nava Thakuria <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: An Appeal to the People of Assam Terror gripped Assam is facing yet another grave situation. Unabated terror and indiscriminate bomb blasts being carried out by the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) militants and other ultras recently have made the innocent and helpless people of this State horrified. As there is no alternative to the protest resistance against this sort of terrorism, we call upon the people of Assam to come forward against terrorism. To lodge protest against the indiscriminate killings in the city and other areas of Assam, we are organizing a protest rally of the citizens on May 30 (Wednesday) next at 10.30 am in front of Guwahati Press Club. Therefore we appeal to all anti-terrorist and fearless people to join this protest rally.
