The Ministry of Rural Development has released Grants-in-aid to 
Assam amounting to Rs. 63.51 crore as third/additional instalment of 
Central assistance to 16 districts as central assistance for the 
implementation of the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) during 
the financial year (2006-07) as per details below:

During the current financial year (2007-08) Rs. 14.70 crore as 
second instalment has been granted by the Ministry to 3 districts of 
Assam, viz. Karimganj(Rs.472.81 lakh), Golaghat (Rs.303.07 lakh) and 
Cacher (Rs.694.67 lakh) as central assistance under the scheme.  

The release is towards plan expenditure and will be utilized for 
approved items of works subject to the conditions laid down in the 
SGRY Guidelines. No deviations from the guidelines is permissible.

The expenditure on implementation of the programme with regard to 
cash component is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Central 
and the State Government respectively.
