Friends, This is 5th Rhino killed by poachers (on 5 February 2008) >From my memory hole: 1 lb (Pound) worth of Rhino horn was 60,000 USD in year 1992 sold in Taiwan market. About 2.24 lb = 1 KG. Chinese makes some kind of medicine from the Rhino horn and this horn is made up of material found in our hair and nail. (Actually I wrote a paper in year 1992 on "Fear of Rhinoceros Unicornis of Assam" for Economics, a British media. The pricing I quote was correct in year 1992, by now it could be doubled.)
There got to be insiders! There could be terrorists' group involved as well, said so because Rhino horn makes Foreign currency. On top of it in January this year two persons were arrested sounding Bangladeshi (police was searching for ULFA but found both with a horn and some drug that make you like drunk). Rokibul Hussein is a suspect and thus Tarun Gogoi too, both are native-Assamese. Can I ask to review Ahom/native-Assamese "leadership & there activities" during past three decades? There might be a clue what is going on and what will cone next!
