Yes I am definitely with Dr.Bikash. Even if the Indian government failed to
honour such veterans /persons Assam should not miss such an opportunity. Hope
our Assamese people vested with the power to honour will take necessary
initiative.

regards

Dear Nava Thakuria Dangoriya,
I shall be glad if you kindly make arrangment to honour existing veteran
freedom fighters, who are numbered very less like the dis appearing Rhinos. One
of them is 93 yrs old British's most wanted freedom fighter Sri Pani Ram Das,
who lives at Kalaigaon, 12 miles from Mangaldai. That man carries a bright
enchanting memories of Indian freedom strugle from Assam. He knew Kanaklata,Was
wioth Kushak kowar in Jorhat Jail.I would love to request you to take note of
his mervellous past for Assam as well India through your writings to latest
world.Let people know better way.His life stories are wornderful and best for
the present generation to encourage patriotism.Their innocent sacrifice was
wonderful.Ironically he was imprisoned again and again since assam agitation
and gone through traumatic bitter treatment by Indian Army in 1991
Jan/Operation Bajrang- when some Bengali and Bihari people informed Army that
his home is the H.O. of ULFA.He might not get any natioal award, but hope you
can do lot from journalist associations.Remembering Kanaklata will not fulfil
things. Those who are living in the remote corners, neglcted should be place
well to the focus to tell their live stories. The DC officer nor the local
administration do allow to hoist the national flag on this special day
too.....In fact like this people should be called to Delhi and allow to hoist
the Tricolour. Not the politicians who know nothing about patriotism.

I hope now something could be done.

Regards.

Dr.Bikash Kumar Das
