Pritam is right, rest of India is not concerned about Assam & the whole NE.

It's a fact! and our politicians have no voice to raise for the people.

Why should we vote for them?

I just came across a few visuals on NETV on the flood situation in
Assam. Ditto the same visuals filled up the screen when they were
talking about the Bihar floods this time. But it seems that the overall
national concern shown regarding the state of things in Bihar is much
more than of that in Assam. When both are equally flood ravaged, we
expect similar responses - when someone told that Army trucks were
starting with necessary food and relief from nearby flood effected
areas in Assam to Bihar - it was hard to believe.

Several voluntary organizations do realize about the situation in the
latter state but what's happening in Assam is taken for granted as an
annual activity. I am sure it won't be easy to be donating for Bihar
when there are needy people in Assam - not that we should donate only
for our state - but noone's been asking for Assam. I do feel there
should be more mobilization and realization of whats happening. The
people from Bihar have done it well for their state - we need to do
that for ours.

Thanks!
