In a memorandum to the Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Journalists' Action Committee, Assam (JACA) also argued that the media fraternity had shown their mettle to pursue the democratic values in Northeast, where scores of secessionist armed cadres remained active, and hence it must be the duty of the government to ensure their safety. ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
