INVITATION
The Universal Peace Federation of India is pleased to invite you to attend the
International Leadership Conference (ILC) to be held at Hotel Polo Towers ,
Polo Grounds, Shillong 783001 on 19th. December, 2008 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm,
on the theme “A New Paradigm of Leadership and Good Governance”. We believe
that this Conference will provide a vision and a model of leadership for
decision-makers. Distinguished leaders representing the government, civil
society, religions, youths, NGOs, etc. will participate.
The Indian chapter of UPF fosters dialogue through its Ambassadors for Peace
initiative and it also conducts substantive educational and social service
programs throughout the state and country.
UPF has held more than 50 International Leadership Conferences worldwide
including in the Middle East, Washington DC, London, Korea as well as in the
Sri Lankan and Nepalese Parliaments. In 2008, UPF-India is conducting 12 such
Leadership Conferences in different states of India . These Leadership
Conferences make a significant contribution towards building lasting peace,
improving the quality of democracy and governance, ensuring more inclusive
development, and the importance of value-based education in our schools. Its
objective is to strengthen civil society partnerships with government in
different areas.. Conferences have been so far held in Gangtok, Hyderabad ,
Chennai, Kochi , Bangalore , Guwahati, Puducherry and Goa . We have had the
privilege of counting among participants Governors, Chief Ministers, political
leaders from across the political spectrum, elder statesmen, academic and
business leaders, editors from the media, and youth leaders.
