Long displacements are supported on every machine that implements
z/Architecture. The capability was retrofitted back to the z900 millicode when
z990 came out. For the grande instructions, if the displacement is actually > 4K
on those old machines then the instruction becomes a millicode instruction.
Otherwise, it still runs in hardware.
