Not a hard and fast preference, but I believe LE gets into the picture with POSIX and that's an extra layer of things to go wrong. I'd suggest posting on the VM list to get opinions from people like Mike Donovan who contribute to that list and know MT CMS from the inside (he fielded many PMRs from me 2 years ago when I was developing software to use MTCMS with POSIX).
