My thanks to all who replied. From the replies, I gather this is OK, but not really the best idea due to:
1) harder for most to maintain 2) LE considerations with DSA - I'm not too LE literate! 3) if MYSUB abends, it appears to be called not from my routine but from my caller, which could confuse debugging. So, I will refrain from this sort of thing with one exception. I may use it to transfer around between "internal" subroutines which are not generally used by 3rd parties.
