Peter,
The examples in the Marx and Davis book are available on the cbt tape (file

Subject: Re: Sample code for PC-ss with SRB back to user space?

Thanks Mike and Tom for those references.

Tom, your presentation at Share 106 in Seattle (2006) was certainly
interesting, but quite general. I was looking for something more concrete,
like a working example, a "Hello World" type of thing that demonstrates the
mechanism but doesn't necessarily do anything very useful.

The Marx and Davis book from 1992 (I'm guessing early OS390 days? Don't know
for sure, I was in VM/VSE at that time) might be a good thing to have, but for
a book originally published at $45 retail, the best price out there in
cyberspace is $108 on Amazon. That's a little steep for a text that may or may
not have examples that are applicable to today's hardware. I'll have to see if
any of my local libraries has a copy to check out before I commit to spending
that much.

Thanks again guys.

Peter
