Macros are only useful as IBM has used them.  Other than that, macros have no 
value.
 
is, in a Pickwickian but important sense, at once obscene and without redeeming 
technical merit.
 
Whoever wrote/posted it did of course have every right to do so, and that right 
must be protected, folded into the right to talk nonsense in general.  There 
is, however, no obligation to take nonsense seriously; and it is almost always 
unwise to do so.
