Make a basic DCB without any RECFM=,LRECL=,BLKSIZE=. Just have DSORG. Then do 
an OPEN for INPUT on it. Then test the DCB fields. OPEN will merge the 
information from the JCL (if any) and DSCB or tape label into the DCB. The DCBD 
macro maps the DCB.
