Steve Comstock is to be commended for trying to cope with John Walker's post.
Still, I do have some sympathy with Mr. Walker's obvious pain.
In recent years I have not had daily contact with IMS; I know much less about
it than I once did; and now when I need to look at an IMS problem, I find the
IMS Version <version number> Master Index and Glossary publications very
helpful. I also found my old, obsolete hardcopy of the RMF Master Index
helpful recently.
All of this is prologue to the notion that an Assembly-Language Usage Master
Index would, I think, be helpful. The obvious question is where the money for
such an undertaking would/could be found. John Ehrman's HLASM-proper budget
would not, I fear, run to it.
