Althru pretty obvious that this is z/OS speak (no one said so, but...) There is a little know other operating system that has HLASM and VSAM.
Here is a z/VSE comment (simply because I stubbled into this a few das ago): Everything beyond ACB+RPL is now (now as in "was not in 4.2 but is in 4.3") above the bar. Consequences are that all programs fiddling with ACB/RPL beyond the plain ACB(RPL (i.e. going to the AMDSB to find out if RRDS or KSDS) MUST consider 31 bits. If you have programs not touched for 35 years (or younger) dealing with VSAM: now is the time. This is in preparation for z/VSE 5 which will have 64 virtuell.
