Hi John - I compiled up a copy of the THE editor, then "dumbed" it down to look and act a lot like XEDIT under z/VM. Even has a REXX facilities linked in. Works great with function keys and such under a Putty session.
There are several ISPF like clones that work, or there used to be. I have not kept up. I have an ISPF clone editor I use on my PC here at home, and I simply publish out the source directories. Works nicely, though I don't do much HLASM editing at home. (Mostly because I am too cheap to buy a personal copy of Systems/ASM. :) You can get really sophisticated if you want and use GUI editors and so forth. But if you want an editor that gets out of the way and lets you get on with your business, THE is a really good choice I think. The price if right too - it's a freebie. -Paul On Jan 17, 2012, at 8:10 PM, John McKown wrote: > I apologize before hand if this is too off-topic.
