'SYS1.SAMPLIB(IEEACTRT)' contains a sample IEFACTRT exit that displays some step/job termination messages which should give you some numbers to do a comparison. Hope it still works. I haven't seen it run in years.
Technically it's not mips but it's clear jake meant cpu time.
