The traditional criticisms of assembly language are that it is
long-winded and detail-ridden.  Macros address, indeed very largely
remedy these two deficiencies.  They parameterize at assembly time,
and they provide a vehicle for language extension.

Preferences for thin as opposed to fat women [or men] are unarguable
because wholly subjective: diamonds vs. rubies revisited.  Preferences
for thin over thick books are already the province of people who have
trouble reading.
