Which brings up the question of whether the trinary compare results (e.g., CAS [Compare Accumulator to Storage] on the 704 and later machines) was requested by the ForTran team, or whether they designed the arithmetic IF because the hardware supported it? Gerhard Postpischil Bradford, Vermont
