It is a fairly complicated instruction, many pages in the PoPS manual due to the large number of "function codes" to do various things. In a nut shell, it stands for "Cipher Message" and is part of the crypto instructions (CPACF feature, I _think_, but I could be wrong). The OP appears to have been using it to do an AES encryption of some 32 byte "message".
