I had a good laugh at this, then a cry 1. I've been an assembler language programmer since 1968. 2. I also became a PC programmer because I thought it would expand my horizons. And it did - I'm a better mainframe Assembler programmer than I would have been if I'd just confined myself to the mainframe ivory Guantanamo. 3. With the possible exception of VM, CMS, and CMS Pipelines, if you've been exposed (as you apparently have) to any mainframe software by IBM, BMC, or CA, then I should have thought that kicking their dead elephants down the road in search of a glimmer of usability would have made you, by now, completely immune to "god-awful piece[s] of clap-trap garbage".
