To all,

Many thanks for all your kind replies online and offline.

I can't believe you all are very helpful! Amazing.

Ok, some notes from my side:

1. A very kind person from South Africa said he had rather use EDMK instead of
ED. His words: 'I use EDMK instead of ED, because then GPR1 points to the first
non-blank character.' I will reply to him privately, but I wish to say THANK
YOU!

2. Thanks for the notes about CVD, OI and UNPK. While that was indeed my first
attempt, I was unsuccessful with that and thus went over to the MVC and ED
method, I will now retry that CVD, etc. again, but with your suggestions.

3. Thanks for the simpler examples and showing my own oooooops including my
clearing out mistake. I can now get rid of the workspace and editing the output
fields to save on space.

4. About the port and LH warning about sizes bigger than 32768. As given by
z/OS Communication Server the port is in range of x'0001' to x'FFFF' (as shown
by dumping SMF records). It is Unsigned binary, size 2 bytes. I 'faked' in
x'FFFF' and got 65535 as output for verification of max port range in output.

Example Dump of Remote and Local Ports (2 bytes each) from SMF records: 12C107F1

Above translates to 4801 and 2033 (and confirmed by my TCP/IP team)

I will now review my code.

I wish to humbly say MANY THANKS for your kind help! I believe this is just 1
hour work for you gurus, but for me this is days long learning and entertaining
journey!

Groete / Greetings
