Just a general question about this functionality. Can these be used with
“compare and branch [relative]) type instructions. For example, a program I’m
working on now has the following:
CLIJNE R9,UEPPLI,MVPCB PLI PROG?
L R8,0(R8) YES - FOLLOW POINTER
MVPCB MVC PCB,0(R8) MOVE PCB TO MESSAGE
I can do this:
IF (CLI,R9,EQ,UEPPLI) PLI PROG?
L R8,0(R8) YES - FOLLOW POINTER
ENDIF
MVC PCB,0(R8) MOVE PCB TO MESSAGE
Which generates this:
CLI R9,UEPPLI PLI PROG?
BRC 7,#@LB11
L R8,0(R8) YES - FOLLOW POINTER
#@LB11 DC 0H
MVC PCB,0(R8) MOVE PCB TO MESSAGE
But I am rather fond of the “compare and branch” combined instructions. And
obviously I still can, but only outside of the SP macros?
