It's sad you needed to say Cobol programmers are not stupid. The reality is 
that they are area experts rather than IT experts. Unix programmers often spend 
far too much time keeping up with their programming languages and environments.
If IBM can deliver on their promises with Watson, the world is in for some 
major advances. Their key concept is to "train Watson". If they are successful, 
then area experts will no longer be associated with IT and businesses will be 
able to concentrate on the business rather than IT. At this point, they are 
still very far away but the concept is very promising.
