It is with deep sadness that I must convey this news.
Tineke Graafland-Ehrman has announced that Dr. John Ehrman, to whom we owe so much for our love of IBM mainframe assembler, passed away within the past day. John will be cremated, and there will be a memorial service in Palo Alto in the future.
SHARE is working on posting a memorial page. which is why I felt it was OK to pass along the news.
If you were not aware, SHARE created an award, The John R. Ehrman Award for Sustained Excellence in Technical Education, to honor him. The first award is scheduled to be given at SHARE 130 in Sacramento.
