Jake you can take a look at
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSLTBW_2.3.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r3.isfa600/toc.htm
It has a section on using SDSF in BATCH as well as Using SDSF in REXX.

Subject: MVS/XA SYSLOG format vs z/OS Arch

ATTENTION! This email originated outside of DTCC; exercise caution.

Hi

Apology for the dummy question

I am trying to modify a source of a module which was built in 80s to read the
SYSLOG(MVS/XA).

Now I would like to modify it to read from the current z/OS architecture.

Is there any keyword or reference that I can look to read and modify ?

Jake
