*Assembler exits remediation*

JES2 is enhanced with a new infrastructure designed to allow customization
of JES2 with less of a requirement to code assembler exits. The new
approach allows the specification of policies that take actions at various
points in processing based on conditions being met. For example, set the
job's system affinity based on a program that is specified in the JCL.
These policies are release-independent, which helps simplify upgrade to new
releases. This release provides the infrastructure for policies with
support for basic conditions and actions. The existing exit infrastructure
is being augmented by the new policies, not replaced.

*SMFLIMxx assembler exits support*

In z/OS V2.4, SMF enhances existing support by allowing greater
customization and filtering to reduce the need for coding tailored
assembler exits. In particular, new support adds additional filters for SAF
checking, overriding JCL specifications of REGION and MEMLIMIT, as well as
the ability to control dataspaces and control over messages that are
generated.
