Yes, GETIME returns the date in what I would call a strange format
-- but I understand it from a VSE point of view. The format is MMDDYYCC
-- if you can imagine it. ;-) When I coded that string of STCM
instructions I was certainly wishing for a better way. ;-) Our hosting
provider has us on an IBM 2818. I presume it supports those vector
instructions but I don't think they are in my PoPs manual (I'm currently
on a back-level, unsupported version of the operating system) for me to
figure out how to use them or if they will do what I need.
