In fact, I was modifying a FOSS compiler which generated an object file
directly, no
assembler involved. I chose to use assembler terminology descriptively.
Compulsively, I wanted to save the storage of a branch around the
eyeIcatcher.
It seemed easier to generate an offset and an RLD than to invent a name
for an ESD.
