Sounds like the user who complained when the application I support generated JCL with mixed case comments.

As I said, I have relied on mixed-case comments to distinguish them from code, visually or in string searches. But I was once scolded by a regular contributor to IBM-MAIN when I posted a code sample (JCL?) with n mixed-case comments. Because viewing it modified his ISPF CAPS setting. CAPS should have a "Don't change automatically!" option, particularly for opening an empty file. -- gil
