This early, it might make sense to just have "latest stable fedora" and "latest stable Ubuntu" as build targets. A more ambitious target might be the latest stable Debian (6.0), stable RHEL (6.x) and latest Ubuntu LTS (12.04.x). I've tried on CentOS 6.3 and in addition to the glib2 issues there is also the fact that cmake was too old. Anyway, I'd suggest we start doing CI on the target platforms.
