This position entails the following activities: Develop, document and maintain logical and physical data models for a multi-phase development project. Analyze enterprise and application logical and physical data models and associated business rules; Develop data migration strategies for retiring legacy systems into modern information systems; Analyze and design data sizing and scaling approaches, distribution alternatives and trade-offs; Coordinate across organizations as required to support data integration efforts; Support and apply data standardization policies; Support related modeling and simulation activities; and Other related activities, as assigned. Data Modeling Develop, document and maintain logical and physical data models that accurately reflect the existing environment and update for new projects/enhancements. Work with DBA and other staff as necessary, to instantiate physical databases based on the models. Metadata Capture and Management Capture, rationalize, document and manage metadata in order to facilitate reduced data redundancy and duplication, provide a better understanding of the data environment and facilitate the reduction of data inconsistencies. Model Management Version and configuration manage data models so that they are consistent with development testing and production deployment environments. Information Dissemination Publish models and metadata in the form of web pages, graphics and reports to projects, management and other interested parties in order to raise the organizational knowledge of what data exists where. Cross-Organizational Coordination Interface with business units, internal IT, customers and management in the performance of duties.
