*Role: Network Engineer* *Work Location: Newark, California Duration: 3-6 months***
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills: Minimum four years experience as a network engineer in a operations role - core routing and switching expertise is required • Experience configuring and debugging systems running Cisco switches, LAN technologies, Nexus switches, JunOS, and Citrix Netscaler Experience on Juniper SRX & Cisco ASA • Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot problems in unfamiliar configurations and in complex systems • Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills, particularly as it relates to issue diagnosis and resolution • Experience with network management applications and related protocols such as SNMP and Netflow • Experience with common routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP • Excellent customer communication skills • Demonstrable ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision • Prior experience working in a 24/7 operational environment • Willing to work day, swing and night shifts • CCNA/CCNP is strongly preferred Roles and responsibility: Respond, troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated by the NOC and internal systems, including developing, implementing and deploying emergency hot fixes within a global network environment with advanced configurations • Monitor network utilization, capacity, and quality • Ability to perform fault isolation and resolution in a methodical, thorough manner • Make technical and process recommendations to prevent repeating outages • Interpret operational data to proactively respond to network events • Identify opportunities to automate tasks and maintain operational tools • Work independently within a fast paced environment and deliver results under pressure • Participate in shift work (24x7 rotations) Desirable Technical / Functional Skills: Work with multiple team (DBA, SE) to resolve the issues in DC LAN/AN network.
