Technical/Functional Skills :
- Extensive experience in test and validation engineering of complex
firmware, software and technologies.
- Hands on experience working with BMC and IPMI.
- Extensive experience with script development including TCL and C.
- Experience with hardware validation of servers and firmware validation of
Server Management.
- Several years of experience with full life cycle testing from test plans
and test case development to scripting, automated testing, regression
testing, functional testing, system testing and test analysis.
- Capable to work independently in a semi start-up environment
- Hands-on experience with any test frameworks and any defect filing
database
- Experience updating, patching, and performance and/or power turning
tuning in Linux/Windows operating systems
- Self-driven and can demonstrate the ability to effectively multitask
- Being able to use scope and logic analyzer will be a plus

*Role: Firmware Design Verification Engineer*



*Location: Milpitas, CA Duration: 6 months (likely to extend based on
performance) *Relevant Experience (in Yrs):
• Minimum 7+ years in storage related OEM or Enterprise industry segments
• Worked with international teams
• Managed automated regression systems
• Master's Degree preferred

Technical/Functional Skills :
Technical and analytical skills required
• In depth understanding of firmware algorithms used in any NAND Flash
based storage devices (SSD, eMMC, SD, USB Flash drives) or other storage
devices
• Experienced and familiar with firmware development, Integration and
validation
• Knowledgeable on product and quality standards and relevant host
protocols, in particular eMMC and UFS.
• Test coverage methods for real-time embedded systems, especially storage
systems and/or NAND storage
• Knowledge in any Host protocols like as SCSI, SATA, eMMC, UFS is an added
advantage
• Able to methodically root cause complex failure mechanism
• Strong programming knowledge & debugging skills in C and C++. Python or
any other scripting is an added advantage

• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Team player
• Able to develop key relationships
• Able to elect requirements from all stakeholders
• Be able to work in pressure for quick resolution and delivery.

Experience Required: 7+ years

Roles & Responsibilities:
Need an experienced Firmware engineer to understand iNAND EFD's system
design and firmware algorithms in order to create a firmware design
verification plans and implement them in modern object oriented languages.
• Work closely with the system architects and the firmware team to develop
design verification plans, test bench and test cases
• Develop an overall firmware validation strategy including defining
validation infrastructure and validation methodology
• Debug the firmware and expose design issues
• Define and design functional tests required to meet customer needs
• Review iNAND Embedded Flash Drives (EFDs) validation requirements and
influence future SanDisk product design for debug and test
• Work with customers to understand field bugs and to enhance the
validation coverage
• Interface with all key stakeholders to ensure product validation meets
customer expectations and needs
Education: MS or BS in computer science or a related field.
