To make troubleshooting analysis a little easier, and to perhaps un-clutter the logs - would it be possible to make a hard-coded filter to differentiate between SMTP session information and administrative tasks/changes? Something like [admin/smtp/all] ? If hard-coding a filter is not applicable, what about splitting the log?
In the case of me helping this troubled user: They have no change-management experience, and made no effort to track the changes they were sporadically making in order to try to tweak/fix their issue. Determining what they did was cumbersome to say the least. All the while, ASSP had to be disabled because of the damage done.
Just an idea. Thanks for entertaining it.
