Agreed. I haven't seen some in a while, but it does seem to come in waves.

Perhaps the correct way to deal with it would be to put email with 
embedded images in a separate "queue in" directory, where a separate 
process can pick through them one by one and OCR them, add its 
results to the message header, then move it to a "queue out" 
directory where ASSP would pick it back up and finish processing?
