I thought I had disabled OCR in the config, but now can't even find 
anywhere to disable it.

In any case, I tried it again with the RC, removing the OCR plugin 
from the plugins directory. Exact same thing happened - within 30 
seconds, 100% CPU and ASSP stopped accepting new connections.
