Doug is correct.
As I almost never edit the files with off-line 
text editors, I assumed it was writing the 
spaces, not just displaying them. My mistake.
Anyway, I made the report after cleaning all the 
white space lines in my whiteRe and it indeed did whitelist a lot of spam.
I am in Brasil, UTC-3hs, thus please excuse me if this info is too late.
