Is there a chance to upgrade your installation to 5.10.x  ? I've stopped 
testing V2 on 5.8.8 - so it could be possible that some code is not 
executed the right way.

Time up upgrade threads and threads::shared?

I did put the IP 61.9.189.137 in the IP Block file 
(denySMTPConnectionsFrom), which is the IP of kristie.com.au and haven't 
had an illegal instruction since (don't know if this was just coincidence)
