Nothin.

Changing the maxbytes from 8000 to 4000, not only had the rebuild take
25 minutes instead of 40+, but the time between

Apr-21-10 05:37:38 Resulting file 'c:/assp/spamdb.rb.tmp' is 3,539,419 bytes

and

Apr-21-10 05:39:03 Bayesian Pairs: 149,688 in new mail, 1,754,452 now in list

is only aout a minute and a half, instead of close to 5 minutes sometimes.

And, most importantly, I've checked the monitor logs and there hasn't
been an outage since the change from 8000 to 4000. THIS IS GREAT, and
my problem is solved. not only that, but it's less hammy now and
closer to 1.

The time that it took to go through each folder wasn't that much
faster than it was with 8000 maxbytes, but the amount of data gathered
was obviously much less.

I have NO desire to change it back to 8000. It certainly makes sense
to have it at 4k, if most spam is less than that. And it's faster to
rebuild.

So the question now is what happens between these two log lines, and
can the efficiency be improved?

Thanks all!
