One thing that might help me and others in long-term use of damping would be to have a percentage average of connections that have been damped, in much the same way as: Messages Processed: 763 (825.6 per day) it could be: SMTP Connection damping: 293 (35.61% avg of accepted connections) instead of just the number that shows currently. This is a much easier way to get a sense of what's going on with damping by knowing how much effort is being devoted to it, rather than a number that one has to calculate oneself, after finding its denominator.
