Understood.

Well, first the disclaimer that I'm speaking from experience with ASSP v1
but yes, outgoing mail is added to the "notspam" corpus. In v1, there is an
option not to collect to/from certain addresses:
Do Not Collect Messages from/to these Addresses* (noCollecting)
<javascript:void(0);>
Accepts specific addresses ([email protected]), user parts (user) or entire
domains (@example.com).

If v2 supports the same option, you could at least add her there, in order
to minimize the damage. Depending on how ASSP's code is written, it could
possibly even stop the collection of mail she reports. You could determine
this by checking the errors/spam folder for her submissions after you've
added her to noCollecting. You could also write a script to go through the
errors folder, discarding her submissions.

Bounce messages simply aren't an option. I may be a volunteer, but I still
don't want to be fired!

If the message is sent as normal, does that mean that it gets processed too
- potentially polluting the bayesian db?

Ken,

Just in case there's no way to get ASSP to do what you're asking without a
bounce message, here's what I would probably do in your situation:

Go ahead and add her to EmailSenderNotOK. When she complains that her
reports are not being accepted, you should say something like "I was afraid
this would happen". Then "explain" to her how the system looks for certain
patterns to detect improper usage, like reporting of ham as spam and
vice-versa. Tell her that you should be able to go in and reset it for her
but if she keeps submitting false spam reports, the system will probably
just reject her again. If the false reports continue, add her to
EmailSenderNotOK again. This should work in helping to curb the user's
errant behavior since she won't understand the system.

Hopefully she doesn't read any messages on this forum. :-)

Hi Ken,

I've not tested this case, but I think assp will forward this request as
normal outgoing mail and the sender will get an delivery error bounce.

I've got a single user on our system who constantly reports non-spam to
the
server. I'm talking about forwarding ads that were subscribed to (like
department store mailings), seemingly regular mail from friends, messages
for colleagues, etc. I've tried instructing her not to do this and
instead
unsubscribe from the legit messgaes. She's not listening though. And the
real problem is that she's high up in the organization and can essentially
do what she wants...

Is there a way to have assp accept BUT IGNORE her reports? I see
emailSenderNotOK, but what happens if the user sends a report? Does it
bounce, or is it quietly accepted without processing?

Thanks
