No, this is done by the module Schedule::Cron . This module modifies the 
global variable $0 (the own script name), even if the 'run' call is not 
detached. In case the scheduler is configured, every call to 
Schedule::Cron::run expands the $0, if {processprefix} is set to "$^X $0".

This will be fixed.

I wonder if this may be related to "mainthread stuck" and
the subsequent "restart"; if that's the case then the code
dealing with the mainthread recover may be the culprit
and... yes, saw it too (and even on windows); sometimes
killing perl (pskill -t perl) reported a bunch of instances
of perl being killed (96 ... or even more); all I can say is
that it isn't regular, I mean, it only happens sometimes
