Hmm.., 'stop working' would be a problem if assp is running as daemon or
service - it will be started over and over again and will fillup the disk
writing the maillog.txt and possibly other system logs.
I don't want to cow somebody to do anything. Everybody should be free to
use the version he/she wants to use.
But I'm free to bother anyone from time to time.

Would it be a good idea to restrict the griplist upload and/or download at
the GRIPLIST-server to assp and rebuildspamdb versions that are not older
than a year or 6 months (or so)?
Or what about changing the color of the GUI to a 'nice' yellow after some
time of no update and later to a dazzlingly 'deafening :)' red.
Or another way would be to popup in the GUI - 'man - do an upgrade' - more
often than later the time (mean older the version).

Oh Fritz, I think we make us no friends with those ideas :)

At least, all of the ideas (except griplist-server) could lead in to a
complete 'no-upgrade behavior' of the community for all the future
updates.

Thomas

I propose a retention period for developer versions, after nn days it
will warn , after nn+10 it will stop working.
